Built by hand in Milan from commercial-grade components, it is a dual-boiler machine with separate brew and steam circuits, each with independent PID control, in a form that fits a kitchen bench rather than a cafe counter. If you are serious about espresso and want a machine you will not outgrow, this is the level where things genuinely come together.
What separates the R58 from most machines at its price point is the combination of a commercial rotary pump and genuinely independent boilers. Rocket's inclined boiler technology means the brew boiler holds temperature with exceptional stability, while the 1.8L steam boiler provides enough power for back-to-back milk drinks without recovery lag. The E61 group head with dual mechanical pre-infusion uses standard 58mm commercial baskets and accessories, so your existing kit carries over.
The detachable touchscreen control pod handles temperature adjustment, shot timing and a seven-day auto-on timer, then lifts off to leave the machine looking exactly like a Rocket should: clean stainless steel with nothing cluttering the top. The rotary pump is also considerably quieter than vibration pumps found at the price tier below, which matters at 6am.
