This listing includes the ECM Flow Control paddle (valued at $449) as a bonus, extending the machine's capability into pressure profiling without needing a separate purchase later.
The Flow Control paddle fits to the E61 group and lets you manually adjust the flow rate of water during pre-infusion and extraction. In practice this means you can slow the ramp-up of pressure at the start of a shot, let the grounds saturate gently before full pressure is applied, and control how aggressively water moves through the puck. It gives the same kind of manual extraction control found on dedicated profiling machines, achieved through a mechanical addition to a platform that already has excellent temperature stability and steam power.
