The R Nine One Black was developed to bring the very best of Rocket's commercial machine programme into a machine capable of outstanding results in a home or small commercial environment, and in a finish that suits spaces where polished stainless is the wrong answer. For kitchens with dark joinery, matte surfaces or a pared-back aesthetic, this is the version that looks like it belongs rather than just fits.
The machine itself is built around the same platform that makes the R Nine One one of the most capable prosumer machines available. The pressure profiling system uses a permanent electromagnetic gear pump to let you shape the extraction curve, either through five programmable presets plus a sixth semiautomatic profile via the group-mounted paddle, or in real time using the paddle alone. The fully saturated group thermally bonds directly to the dual stainless steel boilers, giving you the temperature consistency that serious work with lighter roasts demands. Real-time extraction graphing on the colour touchscreen means you can see what each profile is doing and repeat what works.
The black finish is a deliberate design choice. It softens the visual weight of a large, technically advanced machine and gives it an architectural quality that stainless does not. It is for people who know exactly what they want and want it to look right in their space.
