Product Description
For a home barista moving up from a blade grinder or basic burr grinder, the DF54 V4 is one of the clearest value options in the single dose grinder category. It suits buyers who want proper espresso grind quality and a fresher workflow without spending into the premium end of the market. It also handles filter well, so one grinder covers both.
Single dosing means you weigh the beans for each coffee, grind exactly what you need, and avoid leaving coffee sitting in a hopper between sessions. That keeps each cup as fresh as possible and makes it easy to switch between different coffees without purging stale grounds. The V4 reflects Turin's current iteration of the DF54, with refinements carried through from earlier versions.
What makes the DF54 V4 worth the price is the combination of grind quality and workflow features at this level. The 54mm flat steel burrs produce a consistent particle size suited to both espresso and filter. Stepless adjustment means you dial in by small, continuous increments rather than jumping between fixed steps. Retention is under 0.1g without needing a purge dose. The plasma generator reduces static in the chute so grounds fall cleanly, the anti-popcorn feature keeps beans feeding consistently, and the bellows clear any remaining grounds after grinding. It is not a flashy machine. It does the important job well, which is why it has become one of the most popular home grinders in Australia at this price point.

The Quiet Achiever
The TURIN DF54 Sigle Dose Coffee Grinder is my first coffee grider. After a lot of technical research it was the minimal noise that swayed my choice. Press the ON button and there is a faint humm then a soft Shshshshsh sound as the coffee beans are ground. Now to work out my favourit beans and roast type.

Amazing Grinder Beyond Expectation
Great little grinder. Reasonably low noice, amazing performance single dose grinder at this price point. I'm using Lelit Anna espresso machine and set the grinder at 15 - have pulled an amazing espresso shot again and again. Heavy and sturdy, small footprint it doesn't take a lot of real estate on my kitchen bench! This is my first ever coffee grinder so I would have zero idea on how this is compare to other brand. But so far really happy with my purchase!
