The Lelit Mara X is one of the smallest genuine E61 style heat exchanger machines you can put on a bench, and the reason it works so well in that small a footprint comes down to its dual probe system. Two temperature probes actively monitor brew water temperature independently of the steam boiler, so you get the stability of a much bigger machine without the size.
Underneath the compact body sits a 1.8L stainless steel heat exchanger boiler with thermosiphon circulation, keeping the L58E group at temperature between shots. An internal PID controller and a genuinely quiet pump mean this is a machine you can run back to back without fatigue, either yours or its.
Copper internal pipework, a double manometer for brew and steam pressure, anti-burn wands and an adjustable over pressure valve round out a build that is clearly meant to be serviced and kept running for years, not treated as disposable.
This suits someone who wants E61 style brewing and proper steam power but does not have the bench space for a full sized dual boiler. It is a genuine heat exchanger machine scaled down without cutting corners.
